چکیده
Deep learning has a great potential for estimating biomarkers in diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI). Atlases, on the other hand, are unique tool modeling spatio-temporal variability of biomarkers. In this paper, we propose first framework to exploit both deep and atlases biomarker estimation dMRI. Our relies non-linear tensor registration compute estimate atlas reliability maps. We also use align subject error alignment. atlas, map, alignment addition dMRI signal, as inputs model estimation. our fractional anisotropy neurite orientation dispersion from down-sampled data test cohort 70 newborn subjects. Results show that method significantly outperforms standard methods well recent techniques. is more robust higher measurement down-sampling factors. study shows advantages can be synergistically combined achieve unprecedented accuracy

Brain Morphometry Using Diffusion Weighted MRI: Application to Schizophrenia
Loss of cortical gray matter is accompanied by a commensurate increase in the sulcal and intraventricular cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) volume. On diffusion weighted MRI, this would be reflected as a higher apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in affected brain regions. We propose voxelwise analysis of ADC maps as an indirect method for assessment of regional brain volume deficits. Here we demonstr...
متن کاملRobust model-based transformation and averaging of diffusion weighted images – applied to diffusion weighted atlas construction
This paper describes a method for model-based averaging of sets of diffusion weighted magnetic resonance images (DW-MRI) under space transformations (resulting for example from registration methods). A robust weighted least squares method is developed. Synthetic validation experiments show the improvement of the proposed estimation method in comparison to standard least squares estimation. The ...

background hepatic fibrosis is a typical complication of chronic liver diseases resulting in cirrhosis that remains a major public health problem worldwide. liver biopsy is currently the gold standard for diagnosing and staging hepatic fibrosis. percutaneous liver biopsy; however, is an invasive procedure with risks of complications. therefore, there is need for alternative non-invasive techniq...

متن کاملWeighted Functional Boxplot with Application to Statistical Atlas Construction
Atlas-building from population data is widely used in medical imaging. However, the emphasis of atlas-building approaches is typically to compute a mean / median shape or image based on population data. In this work, we focus on the statistical characterization of the population data, once spatial alignment has been achieved. We introduce and propose the use of the weighted functional boxplot. ...
